John Holland is proud to be delivering Australia’s first dedicated cardiac facility, which will be a state-of-the-art hospital to benefit all Victorians.
When complete in 2022, the $543 million project will provide world-class care for heart patients, bringing together treatment, medical research and training under one roof.
The cutting-edge design of the hospital incorporates light filled interiors and roof gardens, with wellbeing and healing as its focus.
It will include 195 beds, the capacity to perform 2,000 cardiac surgeries each year, 13,500 cardiac laboratory procedures and will cater for 28,300 cardiac emergency presentations and 108,000 consultations.
Chief Executive Officer Joe Barr said this latest win adds to the company’s significant pipeline of work, including major transport projects across Australia.
“We are proud to work with the Victorian Government on yet another world-class project,” Mr Barr said.
“Our track record of delivering major projects for our customers will ensure this hospital gives Victorian heart patients the best care possible for years to come.”
Executive General Manager Building David Lehmann said the win was significant for John Holland’s new national building business.
“John Holland has a renewed focus on the building sector as part of our business strategy. This latest win reaffirms that focus and is one of many important buildings we’re delivering across Australia. We are really looking forward to delivering a project the Victorian Government and the community can be proud of,” Mr Lehmann said.
Early works on the hospital are expected to start later this year
